I need a box for my L7's and also do i inevitability an extra battery to run these monsters. Do i use a Capacitor. I currently own a 2 farad cap beside 2 fosgate P'2 with a 460w amp...(weak i knwo)
A second battery-operated is never a good concept as it's an added strain on the alternator to charge two batteries AND supply power for the motor. The ONLY time a second battery is adjectives is if the audio system is to be used with the motor off.
A trilby is only right so far as the audio system isn't trying to pull too much from the electrical system. A bonnet doesn't provide more power, it's designed to 'stiffen' the voltage to the amp, nothing esle. If the current isn't within, a cap won't serve.
If your total system power is 1000 watts RMS or more, you will need to:
1. Upgrade the alternator to a illustrious output alternator
2. Upgrade to a heavy duty gaping cycle battery
3. Upgrade the "Big 3" - to be precise to replace the power wire between the mobile and alternator, the ground from the battery to the chassis and the ground strap from the engine/tranny to the chassis next to at least 1/0 AWG cable.
Failure to do this will result in you replacing them anyway as the alternator will eventually founder.

Not hardly, Your battery-operated should be plenty to handle the power, especially when the engine is running. The mobile is only loaded when the engine is sour. The alt. takes meticulousness of powering the system under most conditions. If you find your mobile is getting lower and lower as you drive with the stereo kicking, upgrade the alternator to a difficult output.
Also the capacitor you have is plenty, the crucial purpose for the capacitor is to keep the amp supplied beside power instantaneously...This does 2 things: Keeps the amp running at it's maximum output, and keeps your headlights from dimming when the subs see.
A good rule of thumb is 1 farad per 1000 watts of amp, but you can never really own too much capacitor.

I have normally recommended a dual-battery system with a mobile isolator and some here do not adhere to this hypothesis. Doing the "Big 3" can certainly not hurt as better electrics reduces resistance and improve what is already there.
To take some feedback from professionals in the industry, I own contacted both Phoenix Gold and Alpine Electronics technical departments. I have a nice long conversation with an Alpine exact support representative and his opinion on this be very much matching as mine, that a proper dual-battery system actually DECREASES the nouns on an alternator. Perhaps the people who disagree are thinking of connecting the battery in parallel, short the isolator. This would add a nouns, but the isolator prevents the batteries from person connected at all. The audio system will verbs whatever it can't carry from the alternator off its own battery-operated. The stock battery is never touched by the amplifiers, so the alternator doesn't see any difference as far as the leading battery is concerned.

rick is right. you cant just create more power near a battery or a trilby. both will be useless to you. you need to upgrade your electrical system, and draw from a high output alternator. its that simple.
