If you want to be loud get 15's. the difference surrounded by 12" and 15" is that 15's carry further. They may not be as clean sounding though. and it adjectives depends what they are going in. my 2 12" JL's used to pound my trunk but now my sh*ts adjectives popped up and i need new seal, but they still sound hella good inside the saloon.i think it's ignorant. Answers: a larger driver is always more effiecent and therfor louder, thats assuming the subs are the same within all other aspects...
simply look at the subs effeciency rating to compare subs. Keep in mind that a subs coop is every bit as important as the sub itself, if not more crucial to its SPL performance level. So own a box made specific to the sub, to insure the best performance.

If your total system power is 1000 watts RMS or more, you will inevitability to:
1. Upgrade the alternator to a high output alternator
2. Upgrade to a heavy duty reflective cycle battery
3. Upgrade the "Big 3" - that is to replace the power lead between the battery and alternator, the ground from the battery to the chassis and the ground strap from the engine/tranny to the chassis next to at least 1/0 AWG wire.
Failure to do this will result contained by you replacing them anyway as the alternator will eventually fail.

A second battery is never a good model as it's an added strain on the alternator to charge two batteries AND supply power for the car. The ONLY time a second battery-operated is useful is if the audio system is to be used with the coup¨¦ off.
A cap is lone good so far as the audio system isn't trying to pull too much from the electrical system. A panama doesn't provide more power, it's designed to 'stiffen' the voltage to the amp, nothing esle. If the current isn't there, a bonnet won't help. The alternator must have at lowest 20% more amperage power than the entire vehicle and sound system combined for a cap to be of benefit which is ironically duplicate requirements for an amp to be efficient.
