My kicker zx750.1 stopped pumping my subs today so I went to the trunk to find the problem. The problem was that the ground be not secure and it was sparking. My setup is Bat to Capacitor.. Cap to amp. and for grounds it is amp to trilby. Cap to chassis. I will resecure the ground tomorrow but i was just wondering if any injure was done to my system. I'm sure the amp went to protection mode but i be wondering if there was still a fortune that the amp or subs are damaged. I have a 5 year protection plan on the amp so idc. If this have happened to anyone let me know if it cause damage to your system or shortened the life of your system.
You probably didn't do any disfavour to your system , but as a rule, I always ground all my equipment to 1 commod ground. That will diminish the likelihood of you getting feedback from your system, which is called a ground loop. Also run all power lines down 1 side of the coup¨¦ and rca's down the other side, but not on the same side as the ground. Your ground wire wasn't protected. Make sure you sand around your mounting bolt, make the connection as tight as you can go and get it, and you shouldn't have any problems.
Answers: No disfavour was done, this happened to my former system from time to time. I have to connect another ground in a more secure spot. Make sure you enjoy a good contact for your ground, you might have to use a larger screw or find another spot to place your ground.
