For SQ(sound quality), the 500/1 is the only choice -between the 2. So, if you plan on solitary getting a subwoofer for more bass and not neccesarily loud bass, the JL will get the assignment done.
For SPL (sound pressure level, loudness), the ZX750.1 will deliver.

i'd step for the JL. sure it puts out less power, but its built deeply better. i've had 2 kicker amps die on me for no rationale. they would work one day, and wouldnt turn on the subsequent. there be not abussed either.
JL otherwise is overpriced, but they do make solid amps. if you can afford the JL later get it.

Answers: here's the thing for every 3db you entail to double power so even at 50% more power your only looking at 1.5db increase surrounded by theoretical volume. however, the JL have better headroom and actually list a damping factor, which lead me to believe the JL would have much more control over the sub, and from what i've hear the JL certainly preforms better than a kicker amp. I would lean toward the JL, buy they are both excelent amps and the kicker would technically provide more volume, and expected costs less.
