i just bought some jl audio 12 w3v2's and i have them installed in a custom box. the subs are facing the front of the motor because the seats fold down. it sounds really nice inside the saloon and the trunk doesnt even rattle. the with the sole purpose thing is, you cant hear any bass outside the vehicle. if i turned the subs around would it be a lot louder coming down the street. for adjectives you car audio junkies out in that, you know you like it when someone say "dude i could hear you for like 5 minutes"!

Usually, subs are best when facing the ground, it's only physics, it travels better facing down or back. Also, depends on your box, if its ported and whatnot
