I would like to put a fiberglass box in the final of my s10 right now i got a ported box but its taking up to much of my truck so im going to switch to a chalice box thats sealed...
What well the nouns change be?
well it not be as loud?
For the pro's to answer What is a pious air space to have contained by the sealed box when the subs are getting about 1800 rms at 1 ohm..??
Answers: The nouns will not be different IF it is built right. That means if the fiberglass have many layers and is strong. You want to brand sure that the fiberglass has no flex in it. This is especially key if you are running that much power.
The sound change from ported to hermetic may be more apparent. You will notice for a moment less loudness but some more "tight" bass. This will be more of a SQ improvement surrounded by the sound.
Kicker recommends any hutch that is between the volume of 1.5 ft^3 and 6 ft^3. 6 ft^3 is recommended for SQ while 1.5 ft^3 is recommended for more "high-impact bass" (quoted from Kicker). Any volume in between those two will work worthy for that sub.
***The volumes I gave were for a single sub. If you own multiple subs then you should have seperate chamber for each sub.
Good Luck!
