Are they good sounding subs? There is a buy and sell at the local shop for 2 12" Memphis Power Reference I believe. Sealed box with amp and installation for $450. It is $600 near ported box and bigger amp. Should I go near it?
Or would I be better off gettin gone 12" Alpine Type R within a ported box for $230. Or a 12" Diamond D3 i think, contained by ported box for $400

Answers: That actually is a well brought-up price for subs and amp and installation. But, it is not hard to hook up system yourself lately look it up on google. Once you figure out how to hook up your own system take like 15minutes you can a short time ago by a sub and amp off of ebay. Since you are looking to spend 400-600 for speakers win this. One 15" MTX T9500 sub and a MTX 1501 mono amp to go near it. The sound standard may not be to great, but you will definately get the biggest rumble for your buck. I have individually have see this setup do 156dbs competition measurement and specifically just one sub, so I would buy sour of ebay if you learn to install yourself, but I guess you could still hold the dealership put it in for you too if you want.
