what's happening if i own a sub in a ported cage.......and also when it is in high-ranking volume, there's not a big air flow coming from the port :S:S:S ? ? ? ? lone a small air flow.......
facts: the tube of the port inside the box is like 2 inch separated from the bottom of the paddock........ and 2 inch wide ...... the sub it's a 10" pioneer winner....... i have see videos of this sub and it can also break a cd beside the air pressure coming from the port...lol....the work area have fiberglass insulation within all the walls......
the broad idea is to maintain the port velocity as low as possible anyway
It should be a good entity if you are not feeling closely of flow. When the port is big the air flow will be smaller quantity. Also, when the sub is not displacing a lot of nouns you will not get much nouns flow either. This is a angelic thing because that ability you will not have port hum coming from your enclosure.
If you are getting satisfactory air from the port to break a cd you any have a really powerful sub or you own too small of a port, or possibly both. It may not be a good entity to brag about breaking a cd because in attendance is so much air coming out of your port.
Answers: okay ... depending on the type of sub ... some enclosures are not suited for a sub. If your sub have a really deep/big magnet ... you may need to shift with a bigger compound. The subwoofer manufacturer specifies what the great enclosure dimensions are. These just the thing dimensions will allow the sub to operate at its best. You should check it out.
Another potential issue is the amp vs sub compatibility. Some subs work better with 4ohm amp and others work better next to 8ohm amps. Check the sub spec for details.
Here are some other considerations for your weak sub:
- wires conceivably too small ... upgrade to thicker wires
- amp might be overworked. If you only enjoy one amp that's powering everything ... consider using separate amps for front speakers and another one for the sub
- your amp might be under powered. Don't travel for peak amp power, check its continuous power. MTX, Fosgate make powerful amps. Japanese amp makers peddle peak power, but the usable power is contained by fact amazingly low.
- upgrade the alternator or install a capacitor to help uphold proper voltage to your stereo system
- check your crossover; perhaps you hold too little bass going to your subwoofer and too much going to your speakers.
Good luck.
