I just purchased a 2007 dodge quad hackney cab.Im looking for a pre-fab box for 2- 10 inch subs(UNDER THE REAR SEAT).I have located slightly a few.My question is,would you recommend the subs to be facing up into the seat(most are designed as so) or facing down into the floor board.I enjoy found a box that houses 2-10's and they face down.I visualize that there will be a slight distance between sub and floor.Which direction do you think will nouns better?I am more into sound trait than SPL.Besides,I can always donate subs on top of the form later for SPL and only just have them to where on earth I can remove them easily if I necessitate to use the seat.ALSO,if anyone have recommendations as to where on earth I might get a pious quality box as economically.I have found some, but I hold never used any of them,so Im not sure how good some of the boxes are.Below is a relation to an extra large box.what do you reckon http://caraudiofactory.com/20012007-dodg...
nwoh50 has get it backwards. Sealed boxes offer better SQ and ported ones propose the most output. Hopefully he unintentionally get it backwards.
If your going for sound power then you want a Ported Box and Not a hermetic one.
Rather then getting 2 10's ... attain ONE 10in Kicker L7 Square
with a ported box and power that near good amp.
Check eBay for the Kicker 10in Square for some hot deal !!
You couldn't pay me to use a hermetically sealed box...

Answers: The Subs facing up is the way to be in motion....you need to own a decent, well-controlled distance in front of the speaker contained by order to mave correct amounts of air.....this is what make the sound.
So long as the compound matches the volumetric requirement for the subs, you'll be fine....
Consider port size requirement as capably as resonant frequency...amount of power being supplied, Speaker
sensitivity, amp signal to clamour ratio etc etc...
I would recommend two 8ohm subs wired in parallel into a bridged sub amp beside a built-in low pass frequency filter.
Shop around....you may know how to find subs that require the volume the upfacing box provides.
