Answers:    economically i've seen alot of strange things and it could be 3 different things. easiest piece to check are the voice coils on the speakers. you will need an ohm meter, i prefer digital. you can pick up a cheap on at a radio shack for roughly speaking 20 bucks. unhook wires from speaker and check at connectors. i'm assuming the speakers are 4 or 8ohm. if meter reads nothing or off the charts the speakers are shorted and stipulation replaced. second and third is your amplifier or radio amp section get shorted out. if none of the other speakers in your vehicle are working i would walk with the radio mortal bad. check and double check the electrical system and make sure everything is correct. your wires are adjectives good freshly probably hooked up wrong

Is This Possible?

So you back-fed audio power to the HU through the speakers. Most likely you blew out the HU. You didn't short anything, you supplied power where on earth you shouldn't have.
