here are a couple of facts. first if you are into loud, 89db is kinda low, especially for dual 12", if you get a sub at 92db it is effectively the same as have twice as much power in vocabulary of volume. with that siad i believe 600 watts rms into those subs is all a being needs for accurate bass. but again if your a bass guide and want to be heard down the street, after they are a poor choice. if you want more boom for the buck. here is a better choice for roughly the same bread.

note the 93.6 db rating thats the effect of close to 150% more power. so the sony sub with 1000 watts would be nearly the same volume as this mtx sub beside only around 400 watts. that can save you a bunch when it comes time to buy a amp to power it. if you own a amp already, its still only 20 bucks more than the sony.

flawless luck, and happy thumping...

UPDATE:
here is a great sub, 103db rating thats right 103.... that infant will pound.... and (a) 249, its a great price too.

to give you a model thats 14db higher than the sony, of close to doubling power more than four times.. think roughly speaking that..

200 watts on sony.. double once 400 double twice 800 double again 1600.... thats right one more time for 3200 watts.. thats how much would own to be pumped into the sonys (assuming they would take it) to nouns as loud as this polk with one and only 200 watts... and thats fact my friend... but be aware they are a 2 ohm nouns, not 4 like the other two, that may not work near a existing amp, be sure it is 2 ohm stable.

What is the best and conceivably priced...
