Answers:    I don't reason so.
The material used to build the cone is subject to smaller amount or more rapid wear, depending how loud you use to listen to music; especially when it is in dissertation made. Things are more "black and white" about the solenoid. It will be any definitively broken or in suitable condition, but not slightly damaged.

Then the competence of the sound you listen say everything. Either it sounds "as before," or somewhat "scratchy" (in which suitcase the amplifier is damaged, not the speaker, anyways.)

A speaker's cone moves alternatively rear and forth thanks to a solenoid located aft it and within a circular hiatus made in the magnet. This solenoid is subject to warmth according to the voltage it undergoes. The louder you make higher the volume the higher the voltage is.

Beyond unshakable voltage this solenoid behaves as an electric resistance contained by a toaster; it may overheat until it burns the paper of the cone and the epoxy resin keeping it assembled to the cone, thus producing a smell of burn. Beyond that point this solenoid will get heat red until it melt. This is at this point and how a speaker dies.

A subwoofer necessitate much more power than a medium, which obligation much less power than a tweeter, for the text. Thus the best hifi use three different power amplifiers, at least; respectively wired to an active filter. A correct balance would be a 100 watts amplifier for the tweeters, a 200 to 300 watts amplifier for the milieu, and a 400 to 800 watts amplifier for the bass or subwoofer. All this makes profusely of noise but you hold to bear within mind that all thoses things are supposed to impart the best of their performance at roughly speaking 30 to 40 percent of their power capacity.

So, vertebrae to the matter at mitt, all you said suggests that the solenoids of your subwoofer(s) undergo overheating but didn't break. So, it is still in right condition, certainly. The smell be this of burned glue, varnish or/and serious newspaper. That's all.
