I have a Profile HA-1040 amp that will be powering a 10", 160w Pioneer sub and 2 80w, Pioneer 6X9 speakers. I will be bridging the amp to power the sub and the other 2 channel will be powering the 2 speakers. The amp is rated 80wx4 at 4Ohms; if that info is relevant. I do not want to buy the 4 measuring device, $50 kit that Crutchfield recommend. Instead, I want to buy a solid product that is on the cheaper side but at indistinguishable time; will last me a long time. Any suggestions?

Answers: You can get a accurate wiring tools from Wal Mart. It will cost you around $40 maybe smaller amount. 4 gauge is recommended for most amplifiers. For the amplifier you own you can probably use an 10 gauge power and ground line. But, I would recommend 8 gauge or lower.
You can use that amp for your application. But variety sure that you wire the subs surrounded by the 3/4 channel output since it have the low pass filter.
I wouldn't do that. Simply because wirind to speakers and one sub to only one amp won't sound as appropriate. Your low pass would affect the speakers too. The same next to the high miss and the sub. Just get a cheaper amp for the speakers.
