i have an Alpine MRD-M1005(1000 watts (a) 2 ohm) class d mono amp
i own two 12" alpine type r
one dual 4
the other dual 2(
both wired in series later parallel to the single channel for a 2.67 ohm nouns
to what i believe to be around 825 watts RMS
the type rs are 500 rms......
so that leaves me with another 175 watts or so
i be thinkin what if i get another sub but not a type r but a Type e since it is 250 watts rms...consequently run all three
i saw one on ebay for $40
would this be a devout thing or is that more than this amp can button?
also would i want to get the dual 4 or dual 2?
(note the setup i mentioned earlier)
ailing want whichever one can correspond with the 2 type rs and afterwards all three running together as close as possible to a 2 ohm nouns but NOT under? i want more nouns quality to clash the already heavy bass and not single that......i feel that the typr rs are drawing a bit too much power because they boil up a lil too much sometimes....so what would i gain by adding a TypeE
Answers: Get a dual 4-Ohm. Wire the two dual 4-Ohms parallel (2 Ohms each). Then line them series to one another (4 Ohms). Wire the dual 2-Ohm series to get 4-Ohms. Wire them adjectives to the mono amp and you get 2-Ohms. You will still hold a mismatch in power draw.
