Okay Im in the marketplace for a new motor audio system and Im looking at all these features and I dont infer what any of it means. THD, dB, Frequency response, Hz, voice coil and olms, what does adjectives of this stuff mean and what are the better option.
THD= Total Harmonic distortion, the amount of distortion at a certain volume plane.
dB= decibels, a measurement of nouns, the higher the number, the louder
Freq. response. The human ear averages between 20 and 20,000 Hz.(sound cycles per second) The low number import deeper sounds like bass, the better numbers meaning lofty pitched sounds.
ohms= a measure of resistance, lower numbers imply more resistance, making your amp or stereo work harder, like a smaller marine hose has superior water pressure than a larger hose.

There is a ton of info on how the stuff works on that site. 99% of audio equiptment is sold on brand christen and gimmicks, not nouns quality. If you figure out how it works and what those mean, you can get hold of a much better understanding of what is prominent.

Hz= hertz, or the frequency something is vibrating at. For instance, bass ranges from 15-150 or so Hz, while super elevated treble goes adjectives the way to 20,000 hz and beyond.

Ohms are a measure of electrical resistance. adjectives speaker ohms are 2,4,6 and 8. when running them in series and parallel circuits they can shift into different resistances, depending on how you wire it. (ie: 2 4 ohm speakers surrounded by parallel = 2 ohms, but 2 4 ohm speakers in series=8 ohms)
also: Rick is wrong. The more ohms the more resistance, not the other approach around. Low ohms means that your amp will own to put out a hell of a lot more power. Low ohms way efficient, but also funds high drain. (think trying to pump through a straw, after a firehose. The firehose needs a track bigger pump)
