3 of these in a ported box or 4 contained by a sealed box?

Answers: hermetically sealed is going to sound better, and the 3 contained by a ported (assuming the peoper size) will be louder. i'd personally budge sealed.

depends on the box. but i would not expect drastic change no. maybe 3-4 db. over the hermetically sealed enclosure. but i.e. like doubling power... here is something to also keep hold of in mind, 1000 watts is the rule of thumb to where on earth most vehicals need some electrical upgrades, at 3 x 300 your o.k. but when powering 4 (a) 300 you would stipulation to consider at the very smallest the big three upgrade. so with that said 900 watts to respectively the ported would be considerably louder. but remember even the sealed at 900 is pletty loud to literally bring pain to the ear. i am not a fuddy duddy, i similar to it loud too, but after the initial "kewl" wears bad on a day to daytime drive you wont want to listen over 900 anyway, only on ocasion if you be to "show off" and to me sound level is much better to show off anyway...because anyone can fashion a loud rattle box, but feature, that takes thought.

Whay don't you concentrate on nouns quality to some extent than quantity. There be a time when I thought like you do. But, within the end, I considered necessary to hear the music, not feel it. 3 surrounded by a ported box w/ a Memphis class D amp making about 1000w should do it. G'luck.
