Is it ok to have your car stereo playing while you saloon is switched off--my car needs 3 turns of the push button for the engine to start, on the 1st click no lights come on on the dashboard but the radio works, 2nd click all the lights on dash come on including any heaters you enjoy switched on, and 3rd everything starts. i have often contained by the past left my headlights on when engine is completely stale and my battery ran deceased, ive just bought a new battery-operated but this is really worrying as im not sure if the battery is going to waste alot of spirit while im waiting in car parks or supermarket waiting to pick my mother up--or purely sitting in the car doing something while listen to music, can someone put my mind at rest--by the way i drive a rover 400 if thats any help.

Have you checked the battery terminals, to trademark sure they are making a good contact, I'm sure all your desk light should come on with the first turn,
next time do the first turn and hold it on for 30 sec, later lift the bonnet and see if the terminals are hot, if they are you involve to clean them and reclamp

As long as your not going to sit in your car for a week short starting the motor it will be OK,,, its safe to sit their for hours the radio uses hardly any power,, cassette uses a bit more but don't verbs start the engine every hour run it 10 Min's or so ,,

Most of the guys here are right. If you don't have a system like Amp Subs etc.. Then you should be fine listen to your radio without the car running. If you do hold a system then you should either A: turn the subs down alot or B: start the motor so your alternator will be working rather than just your battery-operated. Just make sure that when you get out, you turn everything rotten like radio Headlights so you won't have to buy a unsullied battery again. Hello, It might be your fuse surrounded by the car, American car the fuse is on the disappeared, in a foreign car it is on the right, move about for the less expensive things first, battery terminal need to be cleaned plus the negative and positive connections they hold a little tool at the auto store to do that, It may be the alternator, Plus if you have a problem near starting, it may be the starter or even check the ground wire it may be loose, this is all I know something like cars.As long as your not going to sit in your car for a week short starting the motor it will be OK,,, its safe to sit their for hours the radio uses hardly any power,, cassette uses a bit more but don't verbs start the engine every hour run it 10 Min's or so ,,
