01 gmc sierra or 00 yukon xl?

i'm wondering if an '01 gmc sierra would be good for a drivable project truck over the '00 gmc yukon xl as contained by lowering it and modfying the engine to make it a well-mannered 10 second street truck preferably an '01 sierra extended cab pickup or the yukon xl

Answers: The pick up will be better for bracket race or a street rodding and the engine mods will be more responsive because it is lighter than the Yukon XL.

But both would make >>obedient low riders<< and the engines are the same. unless the>> XL have an optional 6.1L<<

The Yukon is heavier near the glass and extra body stuff--the pickup is easier to modify for lately that reason--less body to alter--the yukon will be better balanced and probably hold better traction--either way it will be expensive and adjectives trial and error....there is not one graceful fix here--you will have to buy separate kit for each emergency you make. You can put nitrous surrounded by anything and have a 10 second vehicle---lowering is another story
