Answers: One of two possibilities...

The starter motor is 'on it's way out' or a problem with the battery-operated (Poor/loose connection - remove, clean, regrease and reconnect mobile terminals) or Battery not holding it'c charge and being too weak to turn the starter motor.

Check the freestyle first and replace if at fault, then replace starter motor.

TIP... If it is the starter motor, and it wont turn, but keep 'klunking', try rocking the car back and forth slightly whilst within gear (3rd gear) to manually turn the starter motor past the bad contact that may be cause the problem.(a tempoary fix to get you started and down to the garage to get a replacement starter!
