I have a '93 G20 van next to the 5.7L V8 and was wondering what the top speed of it would be. The motivation I'm asking is because I was driving a long downhill stretch on the highway next to the pedal floored. The speedometer was peg (85 is the last number on it) for a while and I be still going faster until the engine cut out. So I'm guessing that the governor kicked in? If so what speed will it cut rotten your fuel injection at?
Thanks
Answers: 100 mph with the governor, if you help yourself to the governor off 123mph be the fastest I ever had ours.
on flat ground, around 85. those vans are huge. i don't think those engines have a governor, it may have simply felt approaching it cut out.
