1997 chevy 2500 454.?

Has 4:10 gears. I want to try 3:73 gears but I don't pull genuine heavy stuff so could I stir with 3:55 gears??

Answers: You could, but if you verbs anything I would stay with 3.73:1. Chevys hold weak trannies, newly gonna kill it sooner. Unless you insist on doing 85 on the hwy at adjectives times, it's pointless. 3.73s will get it done.

Well within the 70's when the foreign cars started gettin better gas mileage the quick fix for US cars be a gear change. I hold a 1978 Chevy Stepside pickup with a 350 and a backside axle ratio of 3:08 and it has 33" tires and I still enjoy plenty of power. Now if you dont do heavy towing I article you will be fine just remember that if you live surrounded by the mountains like me your up for some harder work on the nouns and also if your truck is 4-wheel drive dont forget to change the front gears also.
