1999 Ford Explorer - why is in attendance a small plume of smoke coming from the steering column?

Yet another Explorer question. Please data: this has one and only happened twice. It singular happens upon inserting the switch into the ignition w/o cranking. It has happen before and after the cruise control retract. The smoke comes out of the hazard lights button (surrounding hole) and the cruise control stick (surrounding hole). HELP!!! Akins Ford within Winder, GA says it's unrelated to the call in. I've heard it's the multifunction switch. Thoughts?

BMW x5 4.6is?

Ok, I own seen this earlier. There is an intermittent electrical short in the steering column. In the overnight case of my company's tow truck (same column) it turned out to be the wiring for the turn signal, but like mad of other wires can do this. It needs to be address immediately (really) because it can produce a fire!

Disassemble the steering column and inspect the wires, repair/replace as necessicary!

Can I put stacks on my dodge...

Because it's a Ford "Exploder".

I don't know......sorry.

Hottest full size motor when I be...

Answers:    Sounds close to you have a unpromising multi-function switch. This one switch controls the hazard lights, wipers, headlamps etc. Get it replaced until that time it catches fire. Check the electric wiring too, it may be melted.

Which one is the best sports car?

I would say a short within the steering column some where.
