2000 chevy silverado problem rod knock?

Hi my truck sounds like a deisel truck when i start it , till it warm up then it sounds fine. Its a conventional 5.3. v8 engine runs a regular gas. I was told it have rod knock which g.m.. vehicles enjoy a history of having, what is that ? and how much to fix?
thankfulness

Where could i find a 6" body...

Answers:    Yep, it is a common problem. I own a '97 5.7L and it does that more during the winter/colder temperatures.
The grease is thicker and harder to pump when cold, causing the knock condition. You could try running a lighter oil during the winter to serve this.
Fixable, yeah, if the motor is torn down and rebuilt. Just live next to it... I have 183K mi on my truck, it knock a little first startup during the winter. I hold some pretty cold winters so I have installed a block furnace in place of one of the freeze plugs. I receive near instant heat air, and it also help with the knock.

Fiat stilo flipside brake oil lamp flop?

i've have Chevy's my entire life and never have one with rod knock, so it most definately is not a adjectives problem, maybe its merely valve clatter untill the grease reaches the stopcock train. Run sone 5 w30 in it within the colder months, that might help. Put within some STP, thats another good entity to keep an engine very well lubricated at startup.
