2ooo Nissan Maxima, the vehicle stopped running going down the road. No caution lights, no strange noise.?

We drained the oil and have about 2 quarts. Motor probably locked up? Why no notice and do we get another motor or redo this one?

Answers: If your lucky, your fuel pump just died. Still a costly fix but at lowest possible not an engine. You should have get a oil low pale indication but since you did not, you hopefully still had satisfactory oil to rescue your engine. Will your engine turn over when your try to start it? If your engine turns then it is not locked up. If when you try to start it nought happends (no indicator lights) then it is electrical. When be the last time you changed the timing belt? If its be over 60K miles then it could be the incentive of your problem. If it broke then zilch would happen but would would still try to start (indicator lights would be on). I have a older Maxima that broke a timing belt and it be cheaper to replace the entire engine rather than fix it.
