I am considering a 2004 Ford Taurus. What are your experiences?

Was it a dependable car?
Did you like it?
Was it nice?

I hold a clap within my differential....

I'm on my third Taurus. Put 119k miles on the first, 148k miles on the second and am currently at 68k miles on the third. I'm very healthy with them and, for the most part, enjoy only had minor repair issues ... the munificent you'd expect over time.

The only more expensive repairs I had be for air conditioning at around 100k miles on the first two, but I'm in Florida, so the heavens is used a lot here. The first two cars also needed new altenators and marine pumps at around 80k miles.

Other than that, normal maintenance. So, over frequent miles these cars have been deeply reliable and pretty economical to run. Oh, and I've never had any tranny problems in any of them.

Lastly, I've notice the front end comes out of alignment fairly glibly (watch the speed bumps!), so your tires can wear out faster than normal unless you watch for this (slight shaking within the steering wheel or the car drifting right or left).

Gas mileage is pretty pious at around 24 mpg in the V6 and the driving is smooth and comfortable. I give the Taurus a big thumbs up compared to some of the other cars I've owned (including doomed to failure experiences with both Toyota and Mazda).

Hope this helps.

Max rims for 07 wrangler sahara edition?

I've got a 2004 Taurus and I've liked it awfully much. I have about 75,000 miles on it and I haven't have to do any major repairs. The ride is nice. I have the V6 (24v) and it have decent power. It gets in the region of 22 miles per gallon. I bought it a few years ago used with 19,000 miles for about $12,000. In lingo of value, I think it's a great motor.
