Ok... my dad has a 1986 Toyota 4Runner. It blew a commander gasket, so he went ahead and pulled the engine out so he could translate the head gasket and rework some kind of bearing in the bottom because it wasn't running too smoothly back anyway. Well, he got the engine spinal column in and when he go to start it, it tries to turn over, but blows a fuse to the fuel pump so it's not getting any gas. He thought it may have be the fuel injectors grounding out so he ordered some new ones. Well, it still isn't working. It still blows the fuse when he turns the ignition over. He can unhook the ground telecommunication and it tries to start and doesn't blow the fuse, but of course he can't depart it like that. Does anyone hold any ideas on what the problem might be? My dad have worked on cars all his enthusiasm and he's just stumped!! Thank you surrounded by advance!
Answers: sounds similar to the fuel pump wire is pinched and is shorting out to ground.he wishes to check for any wires that might have gotten nick or clamped between the bell housing and engine.or around the motor mounts,when the engine was removed or reinstalled.that probably have the 22r engine which is a terrific little engine and is quite simple.of late double check all electrics in the engine cove around the engine.also get a haines brochure for the vehicle.they are the holy grail of manuals
