91 4Runner, auto next to a elevate?

Is it better to have a manual nouns or auto when there is a lift on your Toyota 4Runner? Are in attendance pros and cons to both?

Thanks to all.

Could I fit an 02 soft top...

depends if it is a body or full suspension or both. i prefer lifts my self because i am a off road nut but also it is much unproblematic to work under the truck and easy acess to transform parts but remember on 91 4-runners keep a check on front end and tire wear also booklet trans is best you control the torque auto always seems to dispense problems in tranny and drive shafts but autos r easy to drive simply dont push autos to hard

Selling engine?

doesn't matter if its a auto or 5 speed, i cant regard or and real difference but i don't have a lift 4runner

Jeep hardtop removal?

Answers:    The only time it really matter is with a body lift. As I'm sure you know, a body raise replaces your body mount bushings with longer bushings (and longer bolts, obviously). That means that any frame/cab interaction is going to be slightly changed...steering, electrical connections, throttle, and yes.. trans and xfer gearshifts. In a mild body pull (inch or two) it's not very noticeable, but if you've get 4-6" of body lift it's going to make the trans discern very clumsy if not impossible to shift in need some extra linkage work.

A suspension lift doesn't affect this, really. A suspension lift WILL affect the angle at which your driveshafts are operating and can shorten their lives. Your run of the mill 2-3" erect shouldn't have much effect. 4-6" lifts will probably see more U-joint wear or you can upgrade to a more expensive cv-joint setup. Extreme suspension lift CAN place vertical pressure on the xfer and differential pinions and cause premature wear on those, but I haven't heard of abundant cases in these Toys.

The '91 transmissions were pretty wearing clothes. An auto may actually work out better because there's no clutch to replace.

The only trans I'd really avoid is the pre-85 stick, those have some known weaknesses.but I don't reason you've been considering anything that old anyways.

In standard, then:
-stick: better mileage, better control, better performance especially within 4-cyl, can push-start if needed

-auto: easier, more comfortable in city driving, supposed to be better for towing, no clutch to wear out, I haven't push-started my cars more than ten times in 20 years of driving :)

Off-road you'll find some folks (like me) prefer the stick for the aptitude to "feather" the clutch to get starting-off traction, and some people similar to autos for their ability to slowly build up power to the wheels.

It comes down to 50/50, I'd step with the better truck than put too much into which trans it has unless you've get a strong preference.

Good luck!

Is it possible to loose change the...

the encyclopaedia will get better gas mileage, and you can control it better in snowy weather because you can downshift and not hold to use the brakes.

Is the Honda Pilot expensive?

the lift wont make any difference. its a business of preference. the manual will obtain better gas mileage and you can run a higher rpm in adjectives gears (not good for the motor) but it would depend on what you plan on doing with the truck.
