96 deville overheats?

i have chagned the water pump and the thermostat. but my cadillac still overheats. also near is white smoke from the exhaust but no smell of antifreeze. my fan does not come on when it overheats, but my fan motor is still dutiful

from my own experience, this will sound very stupid but try this
i enjoy a 1996 chevy blazer and it was overheating too, i replaced water pump, hanger-on clutch, thermostat, everything and nothing seems to fix it. Until sometime i check the antifreeze level and it's ok, but when i open the radiator boater i found out that the radiator was empty, it be because the previous owner had mixed the orange and green antifreeze cause some kind of mud that clogged the hose that goes to the radiator (a wiry hose between the reservoir and the radiator filler neck) i had it replaced and that's it, the car works impeccably, now this white smoke is to worry just about, you problably damaged your engine.

Answers: What happened is this. Your electric fan warmth sensor went out which in turn overheated your motor because it didnt see on the fan.Now you have a blown headgasket.
