i devise what its refering to is half of one of the cvc shafts. outer or inner.but the last time i be shopping for one, i found the whole shaft and both end cv joint, for less money, than just a partially shaft.

How do I use 4-wheel drive on...

Answers:    I don't know who told you that you needed a half shaft, but obviously they don't know what they are chitchat about.

A half shaft is a possession for a drive axle typically found on FWD cars and the like containing two CV joints.

A 1997 XJ Cherokee does not hold half shafts it has a solid front axle beside U-joints. I suggest that you take it somewhere else to have it looked at.
