how long will they usually last but for treated badly, 200k miles? 250? numbers and any info appreciated, gratitude!
Answers: This model car have a horrendous transmission problem that have been all right reported. Honda has warrantied adjectives Acura TLs from 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004 to 100,000 milles automatically. Transmission failure rates are extremely high and mine substandard at 61,000 and again at 128,000 after I sold it. The problem is not fixable as Honda never redesigned the transmission to solve the problem (the grease cooler helps but does not solve the problem. I would avoid those model years unless you want to wages for a transmission every 30,000 to 80,000 miles for just about $4500. You can read more on the web here, honest luck with it:

it will concluding long as long u do your maintenance on a regular reason... i see some go as far over 220 and still runs honourable like untried.. just continue your engine regularly and it will last longer.. especially next to honda/acura engine they are good engines... every 30 i would recommend you do your engine grease, trans flush, coolant flush, check your ac,belts, hoses, rotate tires and check brakes, suspension , tune up spark wires and plug and so forth.. just step to your nearest shop and have them do a free inspection of the vehicle and beforehand u decide to do anythin on your motor make sure u ask them to check em back you approve the work done.. not to bag on some shops but its not a trial things.. they can rip anybody change somethin that doesnt call for to be chance.. but 100k i would recommend u silver timing belt n also do your waterpump at the sametime so no more worries in the long run... goodluck
