Only thing I could recommend over the 335 (depending on your plane of desire for "spirited driving") would be the E46 M3. A stock M3 is faster then the 335 is and for like mad less money if you're buying an M3 solitary a couple of years old.
The M3 is also a more aggressive coupé though. Better handle and in position to RUN, RUN, RUN at any moment. If you want a more docile approach of "gliding" blissfully with hard by M3 clock speeds then walk for the 335.
