Buying a Skyline?

I am looking at buying a Skyline, I would like some guidance on what to look for to make sure it is within good working instruct. For e.g a mate told me that if you rev it and have someone watching the exhaust for any smoke and if smoke comes out after the Turbo is gone. Some info like that would be handy,

Check that vehicle is showing a nice stout oil pressure rising underneath load.
Drive vehicle long ample that any temp issues are revealed.

At normal engine temp set out the car idle and check for;
Blue smoke = can indicate a variety of turbo or breathing related problems.
Black smoke = can indicate fuelling issues.
White smoke = possible engine ruin, headgasket or cylinder head problems.

Ahhhh! do they even trade 2005 ford...

dude unless you own big money i would get something a bit cheaper like a twin turbo nissan 300zx. i love the skyline but those are thorny to find cheap.
