Can anyone serve me next to my car's overheating problem?

Okay, so it's a '96 vs commodore, and it's going through water approaching you wouldn't believe, but there's no leak. it overheats adjectives the time. just in the past it first started happening, it started making a strange sort of ticking jingle from the front. it's still there, but presently, if it gets really hot (like the temp guage plunger past the red) and almost forsaken, it'll make a really strange metallic ticking crack, (i thought it was something dragging doing a tour at first) and the it'll stall altogether and won't restart for about an hour or so. Also, i lately had to replace the hose down tank.

everyone tell me something different when i ask what could be wrong with it... herald gasket, check the radiator, radiator cap, check the exhaust, tappers, brakes wearing out.... i'm so confused!! I inevitability to get it fixed, but i can't afford to refuse too much money.. is it even worth fixing?

Why don't I hold +12v to my...

Answers:    When you first cut it on, check to see if there is some whitish smoke coming from the exhaust...Also, overt the oil sou`wester (where you put oil within at) and see if there is a whitish tint surrounded by the oil you see on the parts. If in that is, then your director gasket is blown, and possibly head warpage. If not, later chances are its not the go before. Check your passenger side floorboard for water, if its moist, afterwards its your heater core. Otherwise, a mechanic would in truth have to look at it to diagnose. You can try flushing the radiator, making sure adjectives the hoses are in virtuous condition, thermostat is good, etc.
