Electric cooling fan on Mitsubishi 2.4?
I've get a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer and the electric cooling fans (radiator) are running erratically. There are two fan and I think it's solely one of them, but the electric fan will speed up, afterwards slow down intermittently. When I'm driving or idling. The saloon is not running hot. Normal operating temp. When I stop and turn the car rotten the fan will stay on much longer than usual, speed up, slow down and eventually cycle off.
Is this a sign of the lover motor dying or is this an electric regulator, switch or thermostat or something like that could be going bleak. Any advice?
Answers: i imagine its probably the relay going bad on it,they will effect the same article to happen, that's one of the cheaper items to replace also,i have a Mitsubishi eclipse do this, and we replaced the relay just to see if that be it,and it did repair it,so that might be something to consider doing, the relay on the one i was working on would return with hot and cause this,i hope that's adjectives it turns out to be with yours also, suitable luck with it.
Hmmm... I didn't realize the MIVEC 2.4 come on a Lancer in '04. If you enjoy the non-MIVEC the motor should be the 2.0L. Either way, own you had the vehicle back to the dealership? There is a enthusiast controller recall and it's a swift swap that would have be done by the dealer anytime you come in for service. Call them up and endow with them your VIN, they'll be able to share you for sure. Now comes the time when I plead for everyone to take their Mitsu to the DEALER for service and problems. It one and only costs marginally more now, but it'll liberate you a lot down the road ;)
