My sister just made a big ding on her fresh xD fender, there is rust growing on it and so we are thinking have it replaced. I can't seem to find a online catalog more or less how much it will cost, can someone gives an perception or suggestion?
The dealer quate $1400, which I guess is insane.
Thanks
Answers: Actually that would be the correct price just nearly anywhere you go, unless you wish you want a used fender. Then whoever fixes it will probably go to second-hand goods yards and try to find wrecked fenders.
Reason why it's so expensive? Because believe it or not, profusely of these parts are actually shipped from Japan. I hold a Scion xB and when we bought it, it was wrecked. The majority of the parts be shipped oversea's.
Plus, a dealership costs' about 70-110 dollars an hour to do things similar to that, and to replace a fender, your looking at....shipping time, time to sand, time to paint, time to water sand, & buff, not to mention installing it on the saloon. It'd probably be about a days work or possibly 2, depending on the dealership.
Don't go through a dealership, you can truly go to a body shop and they can purchase the cog at a discount rate, and install it for a lot smaller number, probably about 500 dollars for labor plus the sector price, which should probably be around 400 dollars or so new.
On a Scion you enjoy little choice except a used fender. The parts cost same to everyone. This is same as adding an way out or even car price. Non-negotible for peddler and customer.
