i have a 96 civic, and the cruise control just stopped working. a mechanic said it would cost alot to trouble shoot it, any design what i could do myself to check it or fix it?
check the fuses also check the vacume lines create sure they are not cracked. from there on your on your own need to look at it or you have need of to have it looked at by someone who wants your money.
Answers: the first thing you want to do is to check to see if the main switch get turned off by accident. the basic switch should be on the instrument panel to the left of the steering wheel. abundant times when the dash panel is cleaned the switch is turned OFF. just push the switch within to turn it on and try to see if the cruise works. If the switch is working there should be a green light on the switch when its "on"
if it doesn't at that point, appropriate it to the dealer. it would take more diagnosis so I'd reward them to check it out and let you know what it needs. later you can make a decision on what to do.
