i have a 1998 dodge durango with a v8 that get 8.1 mpg. do you think that there is a problem next to my car or with my driving? and what would the problem be? oh and i progress out of my way to not have a organize foot. let me know what u think.
The V-6 is no actual mileage winner in the Durango, but it should go and get at least 15-17 average city/highway. A tune up and especially an emissions system check could be the culprit.
could be your fuel pump that is sending the wrong nouns to gasoline mixture.
Answers: i ruminate that would be the vehicle in need of a tune up or something, ego at least have the computer scan on it to see if it has any trouble codes on it,that might help explain where on earth all the gas is going to,those don't get the best of mileage but they also don't supposed to be that unpromising on gas,you should get around 20 at least on that one, angelic luck with it.

SUVs are notoriously bad when it comes to mpg but this is hugely low even so. Get it checked out.
Better still - get rid of it and buy something more environmentally friendly.
Doubt its the fuel pump. Im sure you need to hold a tune up also. Double check your air filter and the gap on your plugs.

To be honest with you, it is pretty much normal mpg if you are doing profusely of city driving. Stop and go kills your gas mileage and between 8 to 12 mpg is nearly average. There isn't much you can really do about it unfortunately. Sorry for the desperate news.

I would start beside checking/changing air filter .Get a tune up.Make sure your tires are balanced and properly inflated ,lower than inflation creates more drag on the road surface, which robs gas mileage.Tire alignment. Not having the boil on full power.warming up you car to proper operating temps.Using cruise control when nontoxic. Not constant stop and go.These are a few things you can look into, hope they help. The V-6 is no actual mileage winner in the Durango, but it should go and get at least 15-17 average city/highway.
