A hark back to isn't really that big of a deal. It is in fact a good entity in most cases. The entrepreneur can issue a recall for various reasons not purely safety. I do recall on vehicles that are considered "customer satisfaction" to repair a pontential problem back it causes the owner any problems. I approaching when the manufacturer can own it made a mistake and make it right, its much better than the alternative.

i actually have a sneaking suspicion that that chrysler/jeep/dodge have not as much of recalls than most brands do...get just rather experience to back up that claim too.
the motivation for a recall is simple. the mfgr feel that something needed to be fixed. pretty straight forward. all mfgrs do this...
