I'm looking to drop a new engine into my 'lude soon and wondering what I've get in it stock presently, and what is the most powerful engine i can drop into it? Cost? Oh yea, how long do you think I should lurk to get this modern engine? Should I just wear out the stock or what?
Put a 3.2 from a TL surrounded by there that will furnish you some power.
Well the prelude has a great motor to switch on with, H22A, permit me ask you this, what kind of set up are you planning, All motor or fored induced.
Although the engine have a great displacement of 2.2 liters, its heavy, i would opt for a b18c5 (type r) or a b18c1 (gsr) the difference between the 2 is that the type r revs 300rpm highly developed thanks tothe lighter cam shaft.
If you are planning to boost your engine, 1bar (7psi)-2 tablet (14 psi) the prelude is a good engine to work near since the bigger the diplacement, the faster your engine will spool, however if your gonna run high boost applications (21 and up), b16 or b18 is the bearing to go since the cylinder walls are thicker and can fiddle with the load better compared to the H22
Answers: contained by response to the guy above, why would you even consider putting any b-series motor in a prelude? mode less torque, for one. and you are going to spend who know how much to get custom axels and mounts to fit the prelude! freshly get another H22, possibly the jdm interpretation. I've seen them as low as 1200 for freshly the motor. no you shouldnt wait until your engine go, you should buy it as soon as possible in my feelings, because it's just better to own it lying around until you need it, later to need it and enjoy to search for one and dally for it to come.
