i have a 2005 mustang with a v6 but i considered necessary to swap the v6 for something with more power. i was thinking any the 4.6L in the gt, a 5.0L from a boss 302, a 427 cobra jet or this crate engine http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/par... that I found for an 04 cobra mustang. I know this will be a tight fit and it will require some modifications but what else will i obligation? i want to switch to a manual transmission also if anyone know a good brand for a transmission please include it. this is my first swap so I'm not really sure what else i will obligation to replace in the mustang if you could let me know it would be great. appreciation

You would spend more on the swap than you did on the car. A better plan would be to trade it in on GT and use that as a starting point.
You need to replace suspension, electronics, cooling, etc. The Tremac is a good nouns.

Answers: Without makign your costs extreme, I would just go near the transmission from a Mustang GT, same with the flipside and axles. Your modifications are gonna be probably engine mounts (Although with Ford's modular engine, you may not need different mounts. Would suggest them thoguh for the more powerful motor.) You will stipulation to change the coolant system, namely the radiator (The old one may not fit beside the V8) as well as some other parts when switching from an automatic to a manual, including totalling a shift linkage, etc. Have fun!
