If i get tentative bearings for my 88 camaro next to a 305 tbi, about how much will it cost and how long could it embezzle?
If the bearing are shot then, contained by all likelyhood, the rings and valve are at the end of their existence, or nearly so, as well. I wouldn't invest the time or money required to scratch the engine down without doing a complete overhaul. You hold to tear it down anyway so you might as all right insure that aomething else won't bite you in the reverse and cause you to break it down all over again within a few months. An old but right adage, "If you're going to do something, do it right the FIRST time".
If I be doing the bearings I would do a complete overhaul.
But if the crankshaft and rods are within spec., maybe a week.
If you can do the work your self, and nil goes wrong 2 days.
But I would merely take it out and drop it sour at a auto-machine shop and have it fitted for what ever over sized attitude, rings and what ever else it needs.
If you are surrounded by a hurry get a honest crate motor that is already built.
Being an 88 model I am sure it requirements more then bearing to put the like unusual zoom in it.
