Faster coup¨¦ surrounded by the quater mile?

What is a faster stock car?I think the 69 doge dart also the big block 454 71 chevelle .what is faster

I own a 1993 Toyota Camry, but...

Its good to see near are still people out there chitchat real cars.

I dont know much about dodge, hemi's are to expensive. but I would bear a ride in a 69' cherger 426ci anytime!

If you want to see hot numbers for stock muscle car 1/4 mile time, I suggest 69' 427 ZL1 camaro and 70' 454 LS6 SS chevelle

LS6 time is mid 13s
ZL1 time is low 13s

Here are 2 great engines that never made it into production motor cause of the "clean nouns act" voted in 1970

Ford 427 cammer 658hp (see link)
Oldsmobile OW-43 700hp (see link)

you want a car for the street or for the track? incentive stock car sometime cost more and are almost always slower...

*here is the sunny on a daily basis driver setup:
(one can build this setup for under 25000$)

427 4bolts big bloc
forged 3.76" crank
forged 6.135" h-beam rods
J.E. forged pistons
velocity ported Dart heads (to clash cam)
cam : roller 270 degree (a) 0.50 with 0.615 of erect
1.7 ratio roller rocker with stud girdle
single plane high rise intake
demon 850cfm
big tubes headers near X pipe
and the most important : a pusher plate of about 3000lb of pressure near a 5 speed close ratio Richmond transmission.

about 550hp and a top speed of around 225kmh

this motor is not about top speed but more about surrounded by what time it takes to reach it...
Of course, my bmw M3 is faster (320 kmh) but its not partially as brutal as the chevelle.

without any electronic stability control and traction control, its scary. I approaching being scared, when you know this animal cant be tamed... its also very loud and has rough fallow, rough enough so the nuts and bolts of a honda civic parked next to it would start to loosen :)

11.86s(a)119mph on street tires (never tried slicks, its a street car)

"miles per gallon?? never hear of."

How do I bring back a suitable...

the chevelle...dodge darts arnt that great of cars
I own a shop, a drag car & truck, and do abundantly of racing. Looking at the 69 Dart, it doesn't weigh as much as the Chevelle, and if it has the Hemi engine, later it would win. What many don't take into consideration is this; 71 is the first year of the big cut stern on power. 1970 was the last year of the lofty compression engines that made massive power, so the 454 in the Chevelle isn't what many suggest it is. If one researches the 71, its easy to see its putting out a lot smaller amount than any 69 year model would be. The Dart should go into the high 12's to low 13's, and the Chevelle would struggle to crack the low 14's even though its a big block. If some work be done to the Chevelle it would have a good haphazard, but the weight of the vehicle is going to kill the ET next to the lower compression engine. Many small block Chevrolet engines puts out more horsepower & torque than the 71 did. You didn't mention which engine was in the Dart, but if its a big block, later the Chevelle would be toast. Even if the Dart has a small block engine with illustrious compression, and the Chevelle has the 454 low compression, the Dart would still give the Chevelle a virtuous run, and probably win if they got the hole shot. The Dart was made for race, and the Chevelle wasn't. If the Chevelle was a 70, then it would be a much different story.
Glad to oblige out, Good Luck!
