hi i have a 1977 ford f-150 that have no wiring or motor/trans what so ever. i am currently looking at a 1985 ford f-250 of equal type of body style and both are 4wd and i was wanting to know if adjectives of the mechanical stuff is convertable such as the electrics harness on the 85' will it work on the 77'? they both originally came near 460 big block and the 77' has the untested big block but is not in it. i want to know if the interior stuff is convertable as resourcefully as the 77' needs it adjectives. the only item the 77' has is tires wheel body and axle's...basically lone a roller. thanks
Answers: No, The 2 trucks are COMPLETELY different. Ford give the F-series a 100% overhaul in 1980. The 77 F-250 did not come near a 460 it either come with a 351M or a 400. For model years 77-79 100% of Ford F-series 4X4's and 78/79 Broncos be only offered beside the 351M or a 400. NO F-series 4WD trucks were even offered next to a 460 until 1980 1976 and earlier models be offered with the 390 as the biggest motor within the 4WD models. Swapping a 460 in place of the 351M/400 motors is usually painless and relatively assured. 2WD F-series were available near the 300I6, 302, 351M/400 and 460 NO trucks were offered near 351W's in this time frame. Nothing something like the interiors will interchange (possibly the seat) For mechanicals you can transplant the 460 right into the 77's chassis using engine mounts from L&L products. Both trucks would have used the indestructible C6 nouns, HOWEVER the 77 will not have the trans cross partaker in the proper location to use the trans adapter found contained by the 1985. 79 and earlier models used a long strike iron adapter and had any an NP205 or an NP203 transfer baggage. the 1980 and newer vehicles adjectives came near a shorter aluminum adapter and either the NP208 or the BW1345 verbs case. Since you enjoy the F250 and not the F-150/bronco where the trans mount be NOT relocatable due to being part of a set of the radius arm mount structure you can get away next to simply relocating it a few inches forward. I would re-wire the entire truck with a alien wiring harness untaken from painless wiring for roughly $350 instead of using adjectives the old corroded 20+ year feeble wires from the 85. All in adjectives if you are looking for a donor truck to get parts from you inevitability to look into a 1973-1979 Truck also a 78/79 Bronco would net you 90% of the needed parts as resourcefully.
Just leave it as is and bring yourself an orange suit near black spots and cruise around using your feet approaching Fred Flintstone did. I'll bet you'll be the talk of the town!!
Anyone know roughly 1988 Mustangs?
