I have a 2003 Ford Explorer Sport trac. My keyless entry newly up and quit today out of the blue. My remotes still work fine, and the dome light contained by the car comes on when I press the buttons on the keypad, but nought happens when I try to lock or unlock the saloon with the knob pad. Has anyone solved this problem contained by the past?
Answers: The keypad is wired to the control module below the dash via a electrical system harness. The most common problem is a lead breaks in the rubber goose nouns that runs between the door and A post of the truck. Open the driver's door fully and carefully accessible the rubber tube between the front/inside of the door and the post, where the hinge are. If you find broken wires, reconnect them with crimp terminal.
You need to replace it. You can buy them bad Ebay or lots of online parts stores. Then take it to a mechanic and seize them to replace it for you. It's not a big job.
