Friend of mine has a 2000 Mustang v6. 55k miles or so on the clock.
Recently, the gauges started acting strange. When the ignition is turned on, adjectives of the gauges (temp, speedo, tach, batt., oil pressure) adjectives go from the 0 value to maxed out and afterwards return to normal.
I know this is normal surrounded by some cases, such as on my R1, but wondering if this is a fault code of some sort since it has merely recently started happening?
the battery is dying in the motor and will need to be replaced soon..
Ok how do I know? When the voltage level is too low it forces the cluster into a check mode which you see near the sweeping of the gauges.. usually this will happen when the battery-operated is getting low in voltage..usually this happens when the mobile is on it's last legs.
Answers: How outmoded is the battery?I had the compatible problem in my 2000F-150.When I put the key within the run position all the gauges would sweep adjectives the way to the right and then sweep rear and set themselves. My battery was unsubstantiated, not holding the necessary volts, even though it would start my truck,it still was questionable and the gauges in the vehicle are apperently especially sensitive to voltage drops.I replaced the battery w/ a new one and the sweeping stopped.I hope this help.
