I was wondering which engine would you ppl be in motion for given the choice? I like the h22 but from what I hear the bulk on the engine is too much for daily driving and turning. (I planning on racing)
Answers: If I have the $, I'd get the H22A for sure. My friend does SCCA beside his H22A swapped Civic, and beat Mitsubishi Evolutions next to it. The weight is not the issue at adjectives, it doesn't weigh too much more than the B-series engines do. It's like wise saying that you wouldn't swap a B-series engine into a '88-'91 or '92-'95 Civic, because it will add more counterweight. Here is a good similar to from someone who actually weigh engines to show how little the difference is:

The "issue" is with the bearing the H22A tilts. It tilts backwards slightly over the axles, throwing the balance sour, & creating understeer. With good suspension upgrades, this understeer is almost completely negated. My '94 CX Civic hatchback have more understeer than my friends H22A turbo'd '92 VX Civic hatchback (no powersteering in any car, and no BS). Here's another connection to a guy who has some tips/his view on racing an H22A swapped coup¨¦:

However, as a daily driver, the H22A is loud as hell and have horrible transmission gearing. You could silence the exhaust, and you could use a longer geared H-series or F-series nouns to fix those; but you'll also lose performance.
Here's another intermingle to a discussion about the H22A vs the B18C5 engine. Though the Type R engine is better than the B18C1, it could be built to out achieve the B18C5, so it is still pretty relevant.
