A friend of my Dad's has been agreed to tell a whopper or two in his time. Well, today he said that the approach he keeps his fuel injectors clean is that he puts a cup of nouns fluid in each tankfull of gas he pumps into his truck.
That sounds similar to pure B.S. to me, but then I am not a mechanic...
What do you think. Is it B.S.?
Try it... consent to us know how far you have to walk to the nearest gas station when your truck breaks down. Don't do it. It may work, but they make stuff for doing that and just as cheap as tranny fluid.
If you are running the undeniably crappy gas there might be some truth to it. Your better off spending the few extra cents at the pump on a superior quality gas than trying this trick which could actually do worse for your other componants resembling the O2 sensors and such. Personally I've never had an injector clog or stop working and I usually run BP, Shell, or Marathon, in that demand. I've got a Focus with 120k, an F-250 next to 95k and two Mustangs that never have had injector problems.
This may sound resembling a whopper but it is true, this cuts carbon around you valves, but don't do it evey tank of gas.
yep put money on in my day most adjectives of the truckers did this to help clean the fuel injectors and the feeble Cummings pt fuel pump. worked on the cat as well. but with to days tentative blended diesel fuel it is not necessary . we use to poor it down the carb to help verbs the gas engines too. marvel mystery oil works accurate too.
Actually it does indeed work. But the interval is too repeatedly. About every tenth tank would be plenty. I would also add a cup to the engine grease every 10k as well. The high detergent surrounded by the trans fluid not only will clean injectors, but it will verbs lifters, deposits, passages in the block, grease returns in heads, everything explicitly oil related, really. Most definetely not b.s. It is a tried and true but little known trick. I incorporate the trans fluid to the oil about 500 miles beforehand oil change. You don't want to break up deposits too hurried on an older vehicle, or you could plug the oil filter/pick up blind.
Answers: yep i've hear of it. i've also heard of guys pouring it down the carby while cracking it open to verbs the crud out from the valves.
i wouldn't do it every tank, I don`t know once every 5000 miles. but it may not run crash hot to start with, but it won't kill it.

I enjoy heard this before mostly from elder people and there is no proof it works. Why would somebody put tranny fluid contained by their gas or in their oil?If you wanna verbs your fuel system or engine you dont put transmission fluid in it.Tried and true?Prove it! I guess you could try this if you want a clogged fuel filter and gummed up spark plugs merely to start with.Mixing a small amount of tranny fluid with engine grease will do nothing but break it down and over time possibly cause the intensely thing your trying to get rid of which is buid up.There are so tons different reasons why this wouldnt work and would cause more problems consequently its worth and Im not gonna get into them , just use better sensitivity. You are very right, this is bs.The person above me is outstandingly much right.Fuel injectors dont get overly dirty or clogged nearly as much as most people come across to think.Tell your dads friend he's doing far more harm next good.If your that worried about it use a fuel stabilizer like Amsoil or something it would be a lot safer.yep put money on in my day most adjectives of the truckers did this to help clean the fuel injectors and the feeble Cummings pt fuel pump. worked on the cat as well. but with to days tentative blended diesel fuel it is not necessary . we use to poor it down the carb to help verbs the gas engines too. marvel mystery oil works accurate too.

LOL sounds approaching my dads friends, I have also heard of this but never have the balls to try it out on my own ride. But from what I know it does work something with the additives surrounded by the tranny fluid which some of which are the same in fuel injector cleaners, So within theory I would think its not pure B.S. but conceivably a little B.S.This may sound resembling a whopper but it is true, this cuts carbon around you valves, but don't do it evey tank of gas.
