There is a spacer on the inside that inserts into the center of the carriage. This one normally is verbs with a moment ago some grease on it. The spacer on the outside fits into the seal. This one is usually dirty near chain lube on it. If you wipe it stale you will see where the stamp lip contacts it. Wipe out the seal and apply grease since putting it back together.
I hold the diagram if you can't find it, but I would try using that site so you know what to do should you need to find more diagrams contained by the future.
