Honda Accord 2000. Heater/AC intermittent. Heater/AC shuts down by chance. What can it be? Comp. or electric?

Sometimes it runs (AC/Heater) all day no problem. Seems to own more problems during extreme ambient (cold) temperatures. Heater/AC control pannel lighs go rotten, blower still runs. I see there is a simular question inregards to a Odyssey inthe same year. Has anyone hear of a possible recall?

Does anyone know where on earth I...

Answers:    If your saying that surrounded by cold weather the control panel lights go out then look for a loose nouns on the back of the unit. In cold temperature the connectors will contract and break electrical contact

if you are saying that the air conditioning cuts contained by and out then you might have a problem beside a low refrigerant charge in the air conditioning system. Over time the gas surrounded by the refrigerant system will escape through the seals and that refrigerant has to be replaced during a 'recharge' of the system. Its typical that the productive refrigerant be recharged after about 7 years which is where you are surrounded by time. Cold weather would cause the gas to contract and drop the operating pressure of the system to a point where a low pressure switch would prevent the compressor from adjectives.

there are no recalls on the vehicle nor any service bulletins for air conditioning issues on that car.

hope that help
