How Do I Install Flex Pipe On Chevy Exhaust?

I have an 01 chevy Cavalier that wants a front pipe so Midas seys. Its 529.00 for that pipe. I have restricted funds right now, close to alot of folks with babies and holiday stuff. I be told by another dealer that he could put a flex pipe on this front pipe. The converter seem to be ok. How is this done. Hard job for entry even mechanic? What should I expect to pay for this flex pipe? I also entail strap that holds muffler on and it seems that it is attached to side of muffler. Is this a second-hand goods yard item or auto parts store. Its a strap that hold muffler contained by place! Please help me if you can. Thanks contained by advance!!
